A DAY FULL OF TENNIS ACTION IN MONTREAL!

It’s the second day of the ATP 1000 Masters in Montreal, Canada. Today we’ve got three predictions prepared for you. Taylor Fritz will Face off with Mariano Navone. The finalist from Washington, Flavio Cobolli will square off with the Auger-Aliassime, semi finalist at the Olympics in Paris. Our last prediction today will be Gael Monfils vs Thanasi Kokkinakis.

MARIANO NAVONE VS TAYLOR FRITZ

This is the first matchup ever between these two players. Navone is A 23 year old from Argentina and currently ranked at the 36th position In the world. He has never won a title on the ATP tour and in 2024 he Has won 15 out of the 29 matches he has played. Navone lost to the Bronze medalist, Musetti, in the round of 32 at the Paris Olympics. He Lost to Flavio Cobolli in the first round of Umag and in Båstad the week Before he lost to Rafael Nadal in the quarterfinals. Taylor Fritz also lost To Musetti in Paris (round of 16). Weirdly enough he lost to Musetti at Wimbledon as well (quarter final). Fritz is ranked at the 13th position in The world at the moment. Montreal is a good place for big servers so Fritz should be able to play well

FELIX AUGER-ALIASSIME VS FLAVIO COBOLLI

The Italian Cobolli reached his maiden ATP final in Washington the past Week (lost to Korda). The 33 ranked and 22 year old Cobolli has made a big leap on the tour in 2024. Before Washington he played in Umag and Hamburg. He reached the second round in Umag (Lost to Lajovic) and in Hamburg he lost to Zhang in the round of 16. The confidence is there and he will be squaring off with the semi finalist from the Olympics in Paris, Felix Auger-Aliassime. Felix lost to Alacaras in Paris (1-6, 1-6). Felix also lost the Bronze medal match in Paris to Musetti. He also played in Gstaad (clay) and Lost in the quarter final to Berrettini, who went on to win the event. Felix is Currently ranked at the 13th position in the world. This match opens up the Evening session on the centre court and the support for Felix from Canada will be big. These two have played each other once And Cobolli won the match in Acapulco in three sets, earlier this year.

THANASI KOKKINAKIS VS GAEL MONFILS

Kokkinakis and Monfils will put an end to the evening session and this matchup Has the potential to be an entertaining one, for sure. Monfils, 37 year old at this Point, is ranked at the 34th spot in the world right now. He played the Olympics And lost in the first round to none other than Musetti in straight sets. Before that He lost to Grigor Dimitrov at Wimbledon in the third round. Thanasi Kokkinakis career has unfortunately been hindered by several injuries. At the moment the 28 year old from Australia is ranked at the 81st position in the world. He has only Played 21 matches on the tour in 2024 and won 9 of them. After Wimbledon he only played in Washington where he lost to Korda in the round of 16. Korda won it all in Washington at the end. At Wimbledon Thanasi lost to Pouille in the second round. Gael and Thanasi have played each other two times and the score is one all. Both matches have been on outside hard courts.
