LATEST ODDS

There will not be a repeat of last year's final at the ATP 1000 Indian Wells Masters. Medvedev lost to Rune and the double reigning champion, Alcaraz, to Draper in the semis. Neither Rune or Draper has won the title in Indian Wells before. So we will have a new champion in the southern Californian desert.

JACK DRAPER IS STEPPING INTO THE TOP 10

The 23-year-old from Sutton in England is breaking new ground in his career as we “speak.” With his huge win against Carlos Alcaraz in the semi, Draper is bound to be in the Top 10 on Monday. No matter what happens in the final versus Holger Rune. Jack Draper has never been inside the top 10 earlier in his tennis life.

DRAPER GOT THE BETTER OF CARLOS ALCARAZ

The left-hander defeated Alcaraz in three sets (6-1, 0-6, 6-4). The match lasted for one hour and 45 minutes. Both Draper’s serve and return were working better than Alcaraz’s did. The win versus Carlos was Jack’s second ever, and Alcaraz is now up 3-2 in the head-to-head with Draper. Carlos’ 16-game-long winning streak in Indian Wells is now over. The final will be the biggest of Draper’s career so far.

HOLGER RUNE TOOK CARE OF DANIIL MEDVEDEV

Holger Rune from Denmark took care of last year's runner-up, Medvedev, in two straight sets. The scoreboard said 7-5, 6-4 when the game was over. Both Holger’s first and second serve were working better than Meddy's did. The same goes for the return on both serves. Rune hit 20 winners to his 28 unforced errors. It took Rune one hour and 40 minutes to close the deal. With his win, Holger Rune tied the head-to-head with Daniil Medvedev. It’s two all at this point. It’s noteworthy that Rune had lost seven straight semifinals before the win against Medvedev.

HOLGER RUNE’S PATH TO THE FINAL IN INDIAN WELLS

Rune has not played in a final on the ATP tour since Brisbane at the start of last year (2024). The 21-year-old from Gentofte is playing his best tennis in a long time. Holger Rune started out his campaign at the ATP 1000 Indian Wells by beating Moutet (2-0), Humpert (2-1), Tsitsipas (2-0), Griekspoor (2-1), and Medvedev, of course. Rune has won eleven and lost six matches so far in 2025. Holger reached the fourth round at the Australian Open in Melbourne but lost to Sinner. Rune is ranked at the 13th position in the world.

JACK DRAPER’S PATH TO THE FINAL IN INDIAN WELLS

Draper started out by defeating Fonseca (2-0) in the round of 64. Then he took good care of Brooksby (2-0) and Fritz (2-0). Jack squared off with Shelton in the QF (2-0). The set he lost to Alcaraz in the semis is the only set he has dropped so far in the Californian desert. Draper had some injuries to start the year and has only played at the Australian Open and Doha this season. Jack reached the round of 16 in Melbourne (retired versus Alcaraz) and the final in Doha (lost to Rublev). Draper has won 12 and only lost two matches on the ATP tour in the 2025 season.

RUNE IS UP IN THE HEAD-TO-HEAD WITH DRAPER

Jack Draper turned pro in 2018 and Holger Rune in 2020. Yet these two have only faced each other once on the ATP tour to date. The match in question took place at the ATP 1000 Cincinnati Masters last summer. It was in the QF, and Rune won the match in two straight sets.
