The Warriors just defeated The Oklahoma City Thunder and will go for their third straight win against Phoenix. The Suns just lost to the Timberwolves after winning three straight. Both teams are fighting for their lives to get into the playoffs.
Steph Curry only scored four points in the first half against the Thunder. He got to 21 points when the game was over and the Warriors won 116-109 at home. Golden State did not have Jonathan Kuminga or Draymond Green available versus the Thunder. Andrew Wiggins had a great game with 27 points on 10 out of 17 shots made. The backup center Kevon Looney added 18 points off the bench with three rebounds and two dimes. Kevon made five out of his Seven shot attempts. Looney and Wiggins had a plus minus of plus 14. They were best on The Warriors.
Golden State currently sits at the 11th position in the West. Their record is 24 wins and 23 losses at this point of the season. The game against Phoenix is a big and important one since the Suns have a record of 24-22. The Warriors have won three out of their last five matches. Wiggins have carried the team in that stretch with a point average of 21.7. A lot of trade rumours are currently surrounding Wiggins. We’ll get back to that after the trade deadline day next Week.
Phoenix just lost to Minnesota at home by 113-121. The Suns had won five out of their previous six games before the loss to the Timberwolves. The Suns are at the 9th position in the Western Conference. Bradley Beal is coming off the bench as of late and is not complaining about it. Beal is involved in a lot of trade rumours too. It’s up to him though since he has a trade clause in his contract.
Kevin Durant had 33 points versus the Wolves. KDs plus minus was minus seven in an eight point loss. Devin Booker had 28 and Beal had 17 points. Nick Richards is the new starting center for The Suns instead of Jusuf Nurkic. Mason Plumlee is coming off the bench while Nurkic is totally out in the cold.
