The fifth seed Auger-Aliassime will square off with the second seed, Korda, in the final of the ATP 250 Adelaide International. Sebastian Korda could win his third title on the tour and Felix Auger-Aliassime his sixth.
Felix took out the top seed Tommy Paul in the semifinal. Auger-Aliassime won the match in three sets (7-6, 3-6, 6-4). The 24-year-old from Montreal in Canada has beaten Cazaux in three and Giron in two sets in Adelaide. Felix, ranked 29 in the world, had a bye in the round of 32.
Sebastian Korda had a bye in the opening round, just as Felix, as the second seed. Korda, ranked at number 22, defeated Davidovich Fokina in two sets (6-3, 6-3) in the round of 16. Kokkinakis withdrew from the QF and Korda took care of Kecmanovic in the semifinal (6-3, 7-6). Korda, 24 years of age, has not lost a set yet at the ATP 250 Adelaide International.
Korda and Auger-Aliassime have faced each other on three occasions on the ATP Tour. This is the second final. They squared off once in 2021 and twice in 2022. The previous encounter between these two players was more than two years ago in the final at Antwerpen (indoors). Felix won that match in two sets. Korda won in Estoril (clay) in straight sets and the Canadian won their first-ever match in Acapulco back in 2021 in two sets.
Felix has already played five matches in 2025 compared to Korda’s two. Felix played two matches at the United Cup last week and lost to Borna Coric and defeated Taylor Fritz. So he is 4-1 so far in 2025. Auger-Aliassime had a rough year in 2024 and is moving better on the court at the start of the season. Adelaide is the first entry of the season for Korda, who hasn’t played since the US Open. The last title Korda won was in Washington (ATP 500) six months ago. Felix won his most recent title at the Swiss Indoors in Basel 2023.
