The two American top seeds of the ATP 250 in Adelaide, are both through to the semis. Tommy Paul, seeded number one, will face Felix Auger-Aliassime. The second seed, Sebastian Korda, will square off with Miomir Kecmanovic.
Tommy Paul is making his debut for the year at the ATP 250 in Adelaide. Tommy started out the week by beating Guinard in three sets. That was in the round of 16. In the QF Tommy Paul took care of Hijikata in straight sets. Tommy is ranked at the 12th spot in the world. Paul won three titles last season. The ATP 500 Queens, ATP 250 Stockholm Open and the ATP 250 Dallas.
Felix played two matches at the United Cup last week. He won one (vs Fritz) and lost one (vs Coric). Auger-Aliassime is seeded at the fifth spot in Adelaide. He had a bye in the round of 32, just as Paul. Felix has beaten Giron in straight sets and Cazaux in three sets so far in Adelaide. Auger-Aliassime currently ranked at the 29th slot in the world. The 24-year-old from Canada is up one to nothing in the head-to-head with Tommy Paul. Felix won their sole meeting at the ATP 1000 Masters in Indian Wells, 2023.
Korda has not played on the tour since the US Open. Sebastian Korda had surgery on his elbow in October and now he is finally back on the ATP tour healthy. So far in Adelaide the 24-year-old Korda has only beaten Davidovich Fokina in the round of 16. Korda, ranked at 22, won in straight sets. Sebastian had a bye in the round of 32 as the second seed. Sebastian was supposed to square off with Kokkinakis in the QF, but the Australian withdrew from the match.
It has been a great week for Kecmanovic with three wins under his belt so far in Adelaide. Miomir started out by defeating the 6th seed Bublik in two sets. The Serb took out O’Connell in the second round and Bonzi in the QF. Kecmanovic has not lost a set yet in Adelaide. The 25-year-old Kecmanovic is ranked at the 55th spot. He played in Hong Kong last week and went out in the second round to Muller. Miomir is up 1-0 in the head-to-head with Korda. They played each other at the ATP 1000 Miami Masters, back in 2022.
