Lorenzo Musetti defeated Alex De Minaur yesterday at the ATP 1000 Mutua Madrid Open in straight sets, 6-4, 6-2. The match was over after one hour and 23 minutes. Musetti's second serve was working splendidly well. Lorenzo won 73% of the points on his second swerve to 39% for De Minaur. Musetti won 79% of the points on his first serve. He did not face a single breakpoint in the match and was able to convert three of his own ten breakpoints. Musetti had 15 winners to his 19 unforced errors. Gabriel Diallo failed to qualify for the ATP 1000 Mutua Madrid Open but got into the main draw as a lucky loser. He lost to Borna Coric in the qualifications. Diallo got the better of Dimitrov in his round of 32 match. Gabriel won in three sets, 5-7, 7-6 (7), 6-4. The match took two hours and 23 minutes to finish off. Compared to Dimitrov, Diallo is inexperienced but he was the better player on the important and big points in the match. The match was close and even, the two players won the exact same amount of points in the match. Diallo 31 winners to his 26 unforced errors.
Diallo is 23 years of age and ranked at the 78th spot in the world. Gariel will at least be at number 54 after the Madrid Open is over and done with Diallo is very tall at 6.8 or 203 cm.
