Stan Wawrinka is entering the ATP 250 Open 13 Provence in Montpellier this Evening. The Swiss veteran will square off with Nuno Borges. The Frenchman Quentin Halys will face Zhizhen Zhang from China for the first time ever on the ATP Tour.

NUNO BORGES VS STAN WAWRINKA

Nuno Borges from Portugal have faced Wawrinka once before and he won that match. It was on clay in Bucharest last season and Borges won in three sets. Nuno is currently ranked at the 39th spot in the world. The 27 year old has had a decent start to the 2025 season with a third round exit in Melbourne and semifinal in Auckland. Borges has a record of seven wins and four losses so far this season.

STAN THE MAN IS STILL GOING STRONG

The 39 year old Wawrinka has played three events so far in the 2025 season. Stan has three straight first round exits. Melbourne, Montpelier and Rotterdam last week. Wawrinka put up a good fight versus Medvedev in Rotterdam, but lost in three sets. Stan the Man is currently ranked at the 158th spot in the world. Ten years ago he was at number three.

ZHIZHEN ZHANG VS QUENTIN HALYS

This is the first encounter ever between Halys and Zhang on the ATP Tour. Both of them turned pro in 2012 and are 25 years of age. Zhang is currently ranked at the 52nd position in the world. The Shanghai native has had a tough start to the season with first round exits in Rotterdam, Melbourne and Adelaide. Zhang also played at The United Cup. Zhang has won two matches and lost five so far in 2025.

HALYS ROUGH START TO THE 2025 SEASON

The 27 year old from Bondy in France is ranked at the 79th position in the world, at the moment. Halys highest ever ranking was at number 61 two years ago. Halys has been playing in Adelaide, Melbourne and Montpellier so far in 2025. Quentin has only won one match so far this season. He took care of Walton in the round of 128 in Melbourne.
