Will Felix Auger-Aliassime win his second title of the season at the ATP 250 Open Occitanie in Montpellier? The only one who stands in the way for the Canadian, is The American qualifier, Aleksandar Kovacevic.
Aleksandar Kovacevic is 26 years of age. He turned pro in 2021 after playing at the college level in the States (Illinois). Kovacevic was born in New York to a Serbian and Bosnian parent. This is his first final ever on the ATP Tour. Kovacevic is a qualifier in Montpellier and this week has been something of a big breakthrough for Aleksandar on the ATP Tour. Kovacevic highest ever ranking was at the 72nd spot in September of last year. His current ranking is just outside the top 100 at the 102nd position.
Aleksandar took out the number one seed, Rublev, in the semifinal. He won the match in two sets (7-5, 6-4). He defeated the 4th seed, Bublik. in the QF (6-2, 6-3). Kovacevic has also beaten Bellucci (straight sets) and Goffin in three sets at the ATP 250 Open Occitanie in Montpellier.
Felix Auger-Aliassime has won six titles so far on the ATP Tour. One of these titles was won earlier in 2025 at the ATP 250 Adelaide International. Felix has played ten official matches in 2025 and only lost two of them. The 24 year old from Montreal lost to Coric at the United Cup and to Davidovich Fokina at the Australian Open. Felix is ranked at the 23rd position in the world currently. His best ranking to date was at the 6th spot in November of 2022. Auger-Aliasime and Kovacevic have faced each other once before on the ATP Tour. It was last season at the ATP 1000 Cincinnati Masters and Felix won 6-3, 6-1.
As one of the four top seeds at the event, Felix had a bye in the opening round. In the round of 16 he got the better of Cazaux in straight sets. Auger-Aliassime took out Bu in the QF in two sets. Felix squared up with Jesper De Jong in the semis andwon that one in straight sets too.
