The ATP 500 BMW Open in Munich is in the round of 16. The 4th seeded Frenchman, Ugo Humpert, will be squaring off with the unseeded Fabian Marozcan out of Hungary. Humpert is up two to nothing in the head to head with Marozcan.
The previous match between the two players were at Roland Garros and the Paris Olympics in the summer of 2024. Humpert won the round of 64 match in two sets, 6-3, 6-2. The first match between them was a round robin Davis cup qualifier in 2023. Humpert won that one in straight sets too (6-3, 6-2).
It took Humpert you two hours and 20 minutes take care of Jarry in the opening round of the ATP 500 BMW Open in Munich. Ugo won the match in three sets, 4-6, 6-3, 6-2. Humpert had 16 breakpoints in the match, but was only able to convert four out of those. Humpert made fewer mistakes than Jarry. The Chilean had 52 unforced errors to 21 for The Frenchman. Ugo won 52% of the points played in the match.
Fabian Marozsan faced Justin Engel from Germany in the opening round at the BMW Open in Munich and he won in two sets. The match ended 6-4, 6-1 and it was over after one hour and nine minutes. Fabian served well and won 85% of the points on his first serve. Maroszan was able to convert two out of his five breakpoints in the match. The Hungarian saved the only breakpoint he faced on his own serve. Marozsan won 58% of the points in the match.
The lefthanded Humpert is 26 years of age and he is ranked at the 21st position in the world at the moment. He has won 12 and lost six matches so far in the 2025 season. The Metz native started out the season with a round of 16 exit to Zvevev at the Australian Open in Melbourne. He won the title on home soil in Marseille where he got the better of Medjedovic in the final. Ugo had a second round exit in Dubai and a third round exit at Indian Wells. Umpert lost in the second round at the Miami Masters and in the first round of the ATP 1000 Rolex Masters in Monte Carlo last week.
The 25 year old Budapest native is currently ranked at the 77th spot in the world. He has won nine and lost nine matches this season. Marozsan's first entry of the year was in Hong Kong where he got to the QF. Fabian went out in the third round in Melbourne. Then he lost in the second round both in Rotterdam and in Doha. He lost straight away in Dubai and in the second round at Indian Wells in the Californian desert. Fabian Marozan had first round exit at the ATP 1000 Miami Masters and at the ATP 1000 Rolex Masters in Monte Carlo.
