LATEST ODDS

Borussia Monchengladbach will aim to bounce back from their 3-1 defeat to Freiburg last weekend as they return to Borussia Park welcoming Borussia Dortmund. BVB on the other hand are fourth in the Champions League and are looking to keep their momentum going.

MIDDLE OF THE ROAD SO FAR

Currently sitting 10th on the Bundesliga table with 17 points Gerardo Seoane’s team have shown great home form, winning their last four games at Borussia Park while scoring 10 goals and conceding just three. Despite their inconsistent form Monchengladbach have lost just once in their past six Bundesliga matches, winning three and drawing twice. They have scored 18 goals this season ranking them as the league’s 10th best offense, while their defense has conceded 17, the eighth best record in the competition. So after a slow start Monchengladbach hopes to turn their fortunes around and beat a top five team in Dortmund.

A TOP FIVE TEAM

Borussia Dortmund meanwhile, travel to Monchengladbach on the back of a morale boosting 1-1 draw with Bayern Munich. Nuri Sahin’s men are currently fifth on the table with 20 points and have shown signs of consistency after a tough October that saw them lose four times. Since November, Dortmund have won four, drawn one and lost one of their last six games. However BVB’s away form remains a concern with six losses in their last seven road games across all competitions. They will look to build on their defensive resilience shown against Bayern where they allowed just one shot on target in the first half although their second half performance showed vulnerabilities.

TEAM NEWS

Monchengladbach could be without Luca Netz in defense likely giving Marvin Friedrich and Ko Itakura the nod. Florian Neuhaus remains out but is nearing a return while Yvandro Borges Sanches is sidelined until January. Seoane is expected to field Rocco Reitz and Julian Weigl in midfield with Alassane Plea, Franck Honorat and Robin Hack supporting striker Tim Kleindienst.

Dortmund are missing Karim Adeyemi and Waldemar Anton. Sahin is likely to start Julian Ryerson, Niklas Sule, Nico Schlotterbeck and Ramy Bensebaini in defense with Serhou Guirassy spearheading the attack.

Monchengladbach possible lineup: Nicolas; Scally, Friedrich, Itakura, Ullrich; Reitz, Weigl; Honorat, Plea, Hack; Kleindienst

Dortmund possible lineup: Kobel; Ryerson, Sule, Schlotterbeck, Bensebaini; Sabitzer, Nmecha; Beier, Brandt, Bynoe-Gittens; Guirassy
