Expect fireworks and fury when Inter and Bayern Munich collide once again in the second leg of their Champions League quarter-final — a clash soaked in history, tension, and everything at stake. The Nerazzurri made a massive statement in the first leg, storming into the Allianz Arena and walking away with a gutsy 2-1 victory over Vincent Kompany’s side. Now, they return to the San Siro with a narrow advantage and a burning desire to finish the job.

This is no ordinary night in Milan. Inter are 90 minutes away from reaching a second Champions League semi-final in just three seasons — and possibly setting up a blockbuster rematch with Barcelona. The same Barcelona they famously knocked out in 2010 on their way to the historic ‘tripletta’.

For Inter, it’s not just about protecting a lead — it’s about chasing legacy. For Bayern, it’s about survival.

INTER

This isn't just any Champions League clash — it's a modern echo of a classic. Inter vs Bayern Munich, a fiery rerun of the 2010 final, when the Nerazzurri stood atop Europe for the last time. Now, they’re on a mission to do it all over again.

Inter have been a fortress in Europe this season. Ruthless, efficient, and almost impossible to break down. They cruised through the group stage with six wins out of eight, conceding just a single goal — the best defensive record of any side. In the last 16, they barely blinked, dispatching Feyenoord 4-1 on aggregate while giving up just one more goal. Add that to their 2-1 victory in Bavaria last week, and they arrive at the San Siro with one hand on a ticket to the semi-finals.

Simone Inzaghi’s side are oozing confidence. They hold a six-point cushion at the top of Serie A, and have won four of their last five in all competitions. The only blemish? A frustrating draw with Parma. But even then, the Nerazzurri showed grit.

Inzaghi played his cards smart at the weekend — rotating key names like Thuram, Bastoni, and Mkhitaryan, keeping them fresh for this battle. Taremi is back in the squad after a muscle injury, and Asllani returns from European suspension, but both are expected to start on the bench.

Injury doubts remain for Piotr Zielinski and Denzel Dumfries, and there’s a welcome selection headache at left wing-back — does Inzaghi go with the electric Dimarco or stick with the in-form Carlos Augusto?

Whatever the choices, Inter know what’s at stake. They’ve been here before. The San Siro will be roaring.

INTER predicted lineup vs BAYERN MUNICH: Sommer (GK); Pavard, Acerbi, Bastoni; Darmian, Barella, Calhanoglu, Mkhitaryan, Dimarco; Martinez, Thuram.

BAYERN MUNICH

Bayern Munich are chasing redemption — and they’ll need every ounce of their pedigree to get it. Down 2-1 from the first leg, with the final set to be played in their own backyard at the Allianz Arena, the pressure is sky-high. But if there’s one team that thrives under the weight of expectation, it’s Bayern.

Despite a few recent hiccups in the Bundesliga — a shock loss to Bochum and a frustrating draw with Union Berlin — Bayern remain six points clear at the summit with six games to play. They’ve responded like champions too, smashing St. Pauli and Augsburg with six goals across those two wins. Kompany’s side are back in rhythm, and they’re not done yet.

Their road through Europe hasn’t been perfect. Finishing 12th overall in the group stage, Bayern had to earn their spot in the knockouts the hard way. A tense tie against Celtic went right to the wire, requiring a late equaliser in the second leg to edge through 3-2 on aggregate. They made no mistake in the last 16, though, battering Leverkusen 5-0 over two legs to send a message.

But adversity has struck at the worst time. Star man Jamal Musiala is out for the season, and Manuel Neuer’s return has been delayed again — leaving 20-year-old Jonas Urbig to keep goal under the brightest lights. The injury list doesn’t stop there, with defensive stalwarts Alphonso Davies, Dayot Upamecano and Hiroki Ito all sidelined.

Even so, Bayern are never short on firepower. Raphael Guerreiro might get the nod in Musiala’s absence after impressing off the bench, but the evergreen Thomas Müller is always lurking, ready to make a difference. Serge Gnabry is knocking loudly for a starting role after scoring against Dortmund, but Leroy Sané is expected to keep his place — with Kingsley Coman another elite option on standby.

They’ve been here before. They know how to rise from the brink. The question is — can they do it again, with a semi-final and a shot at glory in their own stadium hanging in the balance?

BAYERN MUNICH predicted lineup vs INTER: Urbig (GK); Laimer, Dier, Kim, Stanisic; Kimmich, Goretzka; Olise, Guerreiro, Sane; Kane.

PREDICTION

Inzaghi’s Inter have transformed into a cold-blooded European machine — ruthless, disciplined, and unshakably solid at the back. With one foot in the semi-finals, all they need now is one more masterclass in control, one more night of shutting the door in their opponent’s face. If they play their cards right, the final four awaits.

But Bayern won’t go quietly. This is a club built on legacy, pride, and relentless pursuit of victory. Kompany’s men will throw everything forward, fighting until the final whistle — but will that desperation be their salvation, or their undoing?

The more they push, the more space opens up behind them. And that’s where Inter are lethal — ready to pounce, ready to punish, ready to kill the tie with one perfect counterattack.

Prediction: Inter winner.
