The Serbian national football team is in chaos. The Saudi Arabia-based stars continue to criticize everything and everyone. S. Milinkovic-Savic and V. Milinkovic-Savic are sidelined. Mitrovic was reportedly considered but has been advised against playing by doctors.
The team is missing the following quartet due to suspensions: Milenkovic, Pavlovic, Terzic, Zivkovic.
They are forced into emergency solutions in the defense, which often leads to communication problems and marking errors (the aerially strong Arnautovic is rubbing his hands, as he is likely to start as Austria’s striker).
Up front, Serbia will likely go with Dusan Vlahovic and/or Luka Jovic, two players who have scored many goals with their heads over the years.
Given Serbia’s weakened lineup, I expect Austria to dominate and create plenty of corner kicks and dangerous situations in the attacking penalty area.
