ANALYSIS COLUMBUS VS NJ DEVILS:
Only a few weeks left before the playoffs begin. NJ Devils have more or less already secured a playoff spot, and it showed in their performance against Pittsburgh. Felt like they were skating on one skate. Managed to create only five major scoring chances in five-on-five play. The defense wasn’t much better. Jacob Markström had a rough day at the office, saving only 16 shots. They are still missing their superstar Jack Hughes. Hamilton is doubtful to play.
If Columbus wants to avoid an early vacation, they need to start winning games soon. Came out with great energy against the NY Rangers. Had a significant advantage in scoring chances in the first period but couldn’t calibrate their aim well enough.
