ANALYSIS VALLADOLID VS VALENCIA:
Bottom-of-the-table clash in La Liga.
Valladolid has numerous weaknesses. They’ve consistently demonstrated poor discipline. While they’ve only conceded one penalty, VAR has saved them multiple times. Offensively, they’ve managed to win three penalties.
As for Valencia? They are constantly reshuffling their injury-plagued backline. Lack of cohesion is evident, having conceded three penalties so far.
Expect a low-quality match, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it’s decided from the penalty spot after some sloppy defending.
ANALYSIS EMPOLI vs TORINO:
Empoli sits in the top half of the table and has earned points in 11 of 15 matches. This is quite remarkable considering they struggle to create goal-scoring opportunities (the fewest in the league). They jumped to a quick 2–0 lead in their last match, thanks to gifts from Verona. However, they now face a fresh injury to Pietro Pellegri (likely out for the season) and will also be without the suspended Liam Henderson. It’s hard to see how they can continue to rely on such fine margins.
Offensively, here’s another revealing stat: in 15 matches, they’ve managed just 20 shots from corners. Defensively? They’ve allowed 60 shots from corners or indirect free kicks, benefiting from remarkable luck to concede only two goals from those situations. Over a full season, these things tend to balance out.
The bookmakers are predicting a low-scoring affair here, which makes the odds on player props intriguing. Valentino Lazaro at 9.00 feels very generous – he takes many set pieces for Torino and already has four assists this season. Gvidas Gineitis, with one assist in ten matches, leads Torino in key passes per game and also handles some set-piece duties. At 15.00, he’s absolutely worth a punt in my book.
