Two of the top teams in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague will square off with each other tonight. Bayern Munich travels to Monaco in a clash with the strong homeside of Monaco.
Both Monaco and Bayern Munich have a record of ten wins and five losses so far in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Monaco and Bayern Munich currently find themselves in the second and third spot in the Euroleague standings as of now. Monaco have the better point differential.
Monaco has won five out of their last six games in the Euroleague. In their last fixture they took care of Fenerbahce, 99-69. Sasa Obradovic got sacked as the Head Coach a couple of weeks ago and the legendary (former point guard) Vassilis Spanoulis took over the reins. Monaco has won three out of their last five games in the domestic French League.
Monaco has slowly gotten better under their new head coach, Spanoulis. There is less predictability on the offensive end of the floor. Monaco has the second best offense in the Euroleague. The big star of the ball club, Mike James, has raised his level of play as of late and is at this point of his career an excellent combo guard. Monaco lacks some power amongst their big men on the roster.
The Bavarians have won their two last fixtures in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague against Maccabi Tel Aviv (98-83) and Baskonia (94-80). Before those wins they had two straight losses to Crvena Zvezda and Efes. Bayern Munich currently sits at the second position in the domestic German League, behind Heidelberg, with a record of seven wins and three losses.
Bayern Munich has the best ranked offense in the Turkish Airlines Euroleague. Since Gordon Herbert took over as the coach in the off season the offence has been getting more and more fluid. Now it is showing on the court. Andreas Oobst is shooting the leather of the ball for his team right now.
