Both Poland and Scotland have a slim chance to qualify for the next stage of the Nations League A. They play in group one and as long Portugal defeats Croatia away. Scotland and Poland can make it through with a win in Warsaw tonight.
Both teams have played five matches each so far in the group one of the Nations League A. They have only recorded one win each and collected four points in total. Scotland defeated Croatia at home this friday and that was the first win for the Scots they drew with Portugal at home a month ago and all of their four points have been collected at home. Steve Clarke’s Scotland has lost to both Portugal and Croatia away with the same result, (1-2).
Poland played Portugal away on friday night and unfortunately for them they were both demolished and crushed by Portugal. Team Portugal won the game 5-1 and the hopes for Poland to get to the next stage of the competition fell overboard big time. If Poland loses to Scotland they will be relegated from the Nations League A. If they win they can make it to the next phase.
Poland won against Scotland on opening day, away, 3-2. They also drew Croatia at home in mid October 3-3. Poland have conceded 14 goals in only five matches. Almost 3 goals allowed per game. That is not good enough by far at this level. By comparison Croatia and Scotland have allowed 7 goals each in five games. Poland has conceded at least one goal in every of their last ten matches. Something their manager, Problerz, must be totally devastated with.
Poland still has a way to get to the quarterfinals of the Nations League. The big problem regarding advancing to the QF, for both Poland and Scotland, is that Portugal already have won the group. One point for Croatia at home tonight versus Portugal would secure them a place in the QF.
Che Adams is out as far as Scotland goes. Otherwise the manager, Steve Clarke, has a fully healthy selection to pick from. Poland has their superstar and skipper, Lewndowski, out for this one. Milik and Dawidowicz are out as well.
