The New York Knicks are known for playing hard every game. Their Head Coach Tom Thibodeau is known for that. At this point it has become a trademark for him and the franchise as a whole. The Knicks showed the Denver Nuggets what playing hard is really all about when they crushed them in Denver and won 145-118. OG Annyoby was feasting the whole game. He had 40 points which is a career high for the versatile wing. Jalen Brunson had a great game too, by the way. Brunson will be back in Dallas to play against the team that drafted him in the second roundof the 2018 draft.
New York currently has a record of ten wins and seven losses. They sit at the 4th position in the Eastern Conference behind The Cavs, Celtics and Orlando. This is the third game of their five game long road trip. It started with a loss to Utah before the win versus The Nuggets. The Knicks offence was magnificent in Denver and they put up a season high 145 points. Robinson, McBride and Achiuwa are out for The Knicks. New York gas won four out of their last five games.
The Mavs have won five out of their last six matches. The only loss came away to the Heat in overtime. Dallas had four straight losses before that stint, so they responded in the best way possible to that stretch of adversity. The Mavericks have been without their superstar Luka Doncic for the last three games. They are 2-1 in that three game span. Doncic will be reevaluated in a week. Najji Marshall joined the Mavs in the off season from the Pelicans. Marshall has been very good as of late. He is scoring at a career high level. The Mavs sit at the 9th spot in the West with a record of 10 wins and eight losses.
Kyrie Irving is happier than ever in the NBA with Dallas. He has referenced how welcome he felt from the start by the state of Texas as well as the Mavericks franchise. Irving has been playing very well since his arrival to Dallas almost two years ago. With Doncic out Irving’s usage rates raises significantly. He is an out of this world and the leader of the Mavs locker room. KlayThompson has not found his groove yet with the Mavs.
