The Houston Rockets are currently finding themselves in a big crisis. The Rockets have lost six straight games and are falling down the standings.
The Toronto Raptors acquired Brandom Ingram on trade deadline day from The Pelicans, and the Canadian ball club has lost three straight.
Houston played last night in Dallas and are obviously on a back-to-back with travel. Their veteran point guard, Fred VanVleet, has missed four straight games, and that is clearly affecting the team in a very negative way, particularly on the offensive end of the floor. The Rockets have fallen from the second spot in the Western Conference to the fifth in less than ten days.
Houston fell behind from the start versus Dallas yesterday and were down by 17 at halftime. The Rockets cut the lead down to two points in the third quarter but lost, 105-116, in the end.
The Houston Rockets have lost to the following teams over the past six games: Brooklyn (x2), Memphis, New York, Minnesota, and Dallas. Houston is far away from being an offensive juggernaut in the NBA, but as of late, their offense has been really clunky, even by their own standards.
The Rockets have a lot of young promising players but not the guy they can trust in clutch time. Houston will test their guys in the postseason and probably try to make a bigger swing in the offseason. Right now, the Houston Rockets have a record of 32 wins and 20 losses. Houston’s home record at the Toyota Center is currently 15-8.
The Toronto Raptors acquired Brandon Ingram in a trade with The New Orleans Pelicans on deadline day. Toronto sent Bruce Brown and Kelly Olynyk to the Big Easy. The scoring small forward, Ingram, will not be a part of the game in Houston due to an ankle injury. That goes for Jakob Poeltl (hip) and RJ Barrett (concussion) too.
At the moment, the head coach of The Raptors, Darko Rajaković, has no choice but to play a couple of quite inexperienced players in the rotation. Toronto has lost three straight games to the following teams: Oklahoma, Memphis, and New York.
The Raptors have won six out of their last ten games. The Raptors have a record so far this season of 16 wins and 36 losses.
