The Slovenian wizard, Luka Doncic, is the new face of the Los Angeles Lakers. Unfortunately, Luka will not be able to make his debut for the Lakers tonight at the Intuit Dome. Doncic will be ready next week. The Clippers are coming off a loss and is looking to beat the Lakers for the second time this season.
The five-time All-NBA player will be the face of the Lakers franchise the ten coming seasons. Doncic is dealing with a calf injury and will be ready to see the floor next week according to reports from Los Angeles. The Lakers' defence won't be that good in the near future since Anthony Davis is a Maverick these days. The Lakers are on a roll currently with eight wins in their last ten games. The Lakers took care of the NY Knicks (128-112) over the weekend in Madison Square Garden. The 40-year-old LeBron James had a great game with a 30-point triple-double. Not bad at all for a player in his 22nd season in the NBA.
The Lakers currently sit at the fifth position in the Western Conference with a record of 28 wins and 19 losses. Anthony Davis will be sorely missed before the Lakers figure out their defence in Davis' absence. It seems like Jackson Hayes will be the starter at the center position versus the Clippers tonight. LA Lakers head coach, JJ Reddick, has a lot of players out due to injuries. Doncic, Maxi Kleber, and Christian Wood. Cam Reddish, Gabe Vincent, and LeBron James are all doubtful. The Lakers are a bad rebounding team, and that could cost them against the Clippers.
The Los Angeles Clippers have overachieved so far this season. There were no sort of higher expectations on the team before the season started. James Harden and Norman Powell have been carrying the team and deserve a ton of credit for that. The Clippers are a really well-coached team. Ty Lue has done a great job, just as their new defensive coordinator for the season, Jeff Van Gundy.
Zubac has an opportunity to thrive under the boards in this matchup. The Bosnian-born Croatian center has 12.7 rebounds per game this season. Ivica always gets up versus the Lakers since that is the franchise that drafted him once upon a time. The Clippers lost their prior game to the Raptors. They sit at the 6th position in the Western Conference.
Nicolas Batum and Cam Christie are out for the Clippers.
