Finally there is some positive news for the Milwaukee Bucks. Bobby Portis Jr is back on the floor after being suspended for 25 games, That’s an awesome boost for Giannis and the Bucks. The Timberwolves are on a heater with five straight wins. That is the longest ongoing current winning streak in the NBA.
The Timberwolves have beaten Philadelphia, Brooklyn, Denver, Detroit and Phoenix in their last five games. The Wolves took care of the Philadelphia 76ers in their prior match, 114-109. Anthony Edwards was the hero of the game for Minnesota. ANT scored 37 points and made six out of his 13 attempts from behind the arc. Rudy Gobert had a massive game with 19 boards and 23 points. Gobert made ten out of his eleven shots. Donte Divicenzo had a nice game off the bench with 13 points. Donte made three out of his six attempted three pointers. Alexander-Walker had five dimes off the bench.
The Western Conference standings are very close at this point of the regular season. Five teams have the same amount of lost games. 32. These teams are Denver, LA Clippers, Golden State, Minnesota and The Memphis Grizzlies. The 7th and 8th seed will end up in the well feared play-in. So there is no question at all about how big the stakes are right now in The Western Conference.
The Timberwolves have won seven out their last ten games. Their record on the road is at 23-16. Since March 2nd the Wolves have won 14 out of their 17 played games. That is a very impressive feat indeed and the team has stepped up when needed. That says a lot about the character of this Timberwolves team. The summer edition Julius Randle is comfortable on the floor these days, That was not the case earlier in the season. The Wolves faced the Bucks February 13th and lost (101-103). Terence Shannon is questionable for the game as far as the Wolves go.
It has been rough for The Bucks as of late with the season ending injury for Damion Lillard. The team is hampered ahead of the upcoming playoffs so the fact that Portis Jr is coming back is taking the vibes up in the Bucks camp. Portis has missed 25 games due to a suspension. The big man Jericho Sims is out, which means that the Bucks will grab less rebounds in Sims absence. Pat Connaughton is questionable and Giannis Antetokounmpo is probable.
The Bucks have found the groove after Lillard’s injury and have now won four straight games. They have defeated New Orleans, Miami, Philadelphia and The Phoenix Suns. The Bucks won versus the Pelicans, 111-107, after a very strong 4th quarter. Gary Trent Jr had 29 points. Brook Lopez and Kevin Porter Jr scored 20 points each and Lopez added 12 boards. Ryah Rollins had 14 points, ten dimes and seven rebounds off the bench. The Bucks are in the 5th position in the East with a record of 44 wins and 34 lost games. Their home record is at 24-14.
