We have a great matchup at the Madison Square Garden with the second and third seed in the Eastern Conference. The New York Knicks will host the reigning Champions the Boston Celtics in an anticipated game. Both teams have been playing well as of late.
The New York Knicks are on fire with eight wins in their last nine games. The Knicks defeated Toronto on the road in their prior game 121-115. Karl-Anthony Towns had 27 points and 20 rebounds. KAT made 10 out of his 19 shots. Jalen Brunson added 28 points and five dimes for the Knicks.
If New York beats Boston tonight they will be tied in the loss column with 17 losses each. Both OG Anyoby and Mitchell Robinson will miss the game. The Knicks have a record of 34 wins and 17 losses so far this season. The Knicks haven’t played since Tuesday and have a rest advantage compared to the Celtics. Jalen Brunson has been awesome in clutch time as of late and is a huge weapon for the New York Knicks in close games.
The Celtics just lost to the Dallas Mavericks at home in Boston in a rerun of last season NBA final. Boston lost by 120-127. Boston’s two major stars, Tatum and Brown had a bad game. Tatum (17 points) finished with a minus 22, Brown had 26 points with a minus 15. Before the loss to Dallas The Celtics had four straight wins against Cleveland (112-105), Philadelphia (118-110), New Orleans (118-116) and Chicago (1220-100). The first three were on the road.
The Celtics have a record of 36 wins and 16 losses at this point of the season. These two ball clubs have faced off with each other once already this season and The Celtics won 132-109. Boston are six games behind the Cavaliers who sit at the top of the summit in the Eastern conference. Boston started out the season with a lot of wins but have stagnated as of late. Which is normal when you are the defending Champion. It happened to Denver last season too. Jrue Holiday is out for Boston tonight.
