The series between The Knicks and The Pistons tied at one all with two games coming up in Detroit. The Pistons bounced back at the Madison Square Garden in game two after losing the first game of the series. Karl-Anthony Towns needs to get more involved for the Knicks on the offensive end of the floor. Or the series will be over sooner rather than later.

CADE CUNNINGHAM ANSWERED THE CALL IN GAME TWO

Cade Cunningham stepped up and showed the world that he is the leader of The Detroit Pistons. After a not so good game one Cade took some major responsibility. The Pistons won the game 100-93 and Cunningham scored 33 points. The point Guard had 12 rebounds, three dimes, two steals and five turnovers. Cade made eleven out of his attempted 21 shots. He went to the free throw line on 12 occasions and made ten. Cade played for 43 minutes.

CUNNINGHAM GOT SOME HELP THIS TIME AROUND

Cunningham got some nice and crucial help from the two of the veterans on the Pistons roster. Tobias Harris and Dennis Schroeder. Harris had a double double with 15 points and 13 boards. Harris also had one steal and one dime. Tobias made six out of his eleven shot attempts. Harris played for 43 minutes in the game. The backup point guard, Shroeder, scored 20 points off the bench. The German also had two boards and three assists. The big man Jalen Duren had a double double with 12 points and 13 boards.

A BIG PLAYOFF WIN FOR THE DETROIT PISTONS

Malik Beaasly had an awful shooting night from behind the arc. The shooting guard only made one out of eight. So his contribution off the bench was smaller than usual. The Pistons made six three pointers to ten for the New York Knicks, and still won the game. This was the first playoff win for Detroit after 15 straight losses. The Pistons head coach, J.B Bickerstaff, told nba.com the following after the game: “The level of physicality is higher in the playoffs. The team that survives it usually wins“. Detroit’s backup Center, Isiah Stewart is questionable for the game tonight.

WHERE IS THE CHEMISTRY BETWEEN TOWNS AND BRUNSON?

Karl-Anthony Towns is one of the best shooting big men in the league, if not the best. The Knicks head coach, Tom Tibbideau, is not using him the right way. New York is wasting his potential and talent here. KAT really needs to get more involved on the offensive end the floor. Towns scored 23 points in the first game of the series and only ten in game two, with only three shots taken in the second half of the game. Tibbideau spoke To nba.com after the game and told them: “If they are committing two or three people on him, don’t want him to be forcing shots”.

JALEN BRUNSON COULD SHARE THE BALL MORE

The Knicks point guard had 37 points in game two and received some criticism for not finding his teammates. Brunson owned after the game when he told nba.com the following: “I need to be better at getting my teammates more involved“. Brunson had 27 shot attempts (The Knicks had 81 in total). Jalen made 12 of them. Mikal Bridges was the second best scorer for New York with 19 points. The Pistons outrebounded The Knicks in game two by 48-34. The Detroit Pistons bench scored 35 points to only eight for The Knicks bench.
