The series is tied at one all when the action is coming to Minneapolis up north. The Lakers were able to win game two of the series at home in Los Angeles. Now it’s up to The Timberwolves to protect their home court after a disappointing game two down in Los Angeles.
The Lakers stepped up after a bad game one of the series and were able to win the second game of the series. It was a low scoring game that finished 94-85. The Lakers came out strong but The Wolves came closer and closer but a rage timeout from JJ Reddick stopped the bleeding for Lebron James and his teammates. The Laker defence was solid holding the Timberwolves To only 85 points. Reddick spoke to nba.com and said: “It’s basketball. Every game is a little different. But i think the mentality from both teams is to have a rock fight“.
Luka Doncic made nine out of 20 shots. The former Dallas Maverick only made two out of his eight shots from downtown. Luka had 31 points, 12 boards and nine dimes and one block. He was a plus 12 in a win by nine points. Lebron James was not good in the first game of the series. He was back to being his usual self in game two. The 40 year old scored 21 points, granned eleven boards and had seven assists, one steal and block each. James made eight of his 19 shots. Rui Hachjimura had Eleven points and the starting center, Jaxson Hayes only played for nine minutes.
Austin Reaves did not have a good first game of the series either. Reaves was able to score16 points in game two. He attempted six shots from behind the arc and missed all of them. He made seven out of his eight two point shots. He also had five dimes and boards each. The Lakers won the game even if their bench only scored 13 points through Dorian Finney-Smith and Gabe Vincent. Reaves need to hit some shots from behind the arc tonight and the bench must be better if the Lakers are about to win game three.
The Wolves had a great shooting night in game one when Randle and McDaniels made a bunch of three pointers. The Timerwolves had a bad night shooting wise in the second game of the series. The fact that they only scored 85 points says a lot. Randle was solid with 27 points, best on the team. He made nine out of 17 shots. Two of them were from behind the arc. Anthony Edwards scored 25 points but only made two shots out of eight from downtown. McDaniels mads eleven out of 13 shots in game one. He took eleven shots in the second game of the series and only made three of them. He had eight points in game two and 27 in game one.
The Wolves bench outscored the Laker bench in game two 19-13. Naz Reid made six shots from behind the arc in the first game of the series. He only hit one in game two. The Timberwolves were sloppy at times in game two and they need to do better at home in the third game of the series. Wolves head coach, Chris Finch, spoke to nba.com ahead of game three. He told them: “We’ve got to come up with a big start on friday. It should be a lot of fun and get the series back to our advantage“.
