The Philadelphia Eagles are one step away from reaching the Superbowl for the first time since 2018. The Eagles will face their old divisional rivals, The Washington Commanders in the NFC Championship game. The Commanders Rookie QB, Jayden Daniels, will write history if Washington gets to the Superbowl.
The bookies in Las Vegas have the Eagles as a six point favourite. The Eagles won the NFC East ahed of the Commanders with a record of 14 wins and three losses. The home court advantage will mean a lot to the Eagles in this rivaling matchup. Philadelphia took care of the Green Bay Packers in the Wild Card round of the NFL playoffs. They won by 22-10. Last weekend The Eagles got the better of The Los Angeles Rams, 28-22. These two longtime rivals faced off twice in the regular season. On Nov 15th The Eagles won 26-18. The Commanders won the second game (Dec 22th) 36-33. Jalen Hurts didn’t play for Philadelphia that one and he was sorely missed.
The Washington Commanders finished at the second spot in the NFC East behind the Eagles. The Washington Commanders won 12 games and lost five in the regular season. The Commanders have won two away games so far in the playoffs. That is a very rare feat when your QB is a rookie. The 24 year old, Jayden Daniels, really deserves a bunch of credit for the season he has had so far.
The Commanders defeated the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Wild card round, 23-20. The Commanders travelled to Detroit last weekend for the divisional round against the favoured Lions. Washington won the game 45-31. Jayden Daniels outplayed the experienced Jarred Goff. In two playoff games the rookie has passed for almost 600 yards, five touchdowns and no interceptions. If the Commanders get to the SuperBowl, Daniels will be the first ever rookie QB to do so.
Barkley has been the best running back this season in the NFL. The Eagles have a great and solid offence with the excellent combo of Jalen Hurts and Saqoun Barkley. The big challenge for the Commanders is to stop the Eagles offence both on the ground and in the air.
