We’ve got two very interesting NFL games on Christmas Day. The first one is a blockbuster between the Steelers and the reigning Super Bowl Champions, the Chiefs. Will the Steelers be the second team of the season to defeat the Chiefs?
Pittsburgh just lost to the Baltimore Ravens (17-34) a couple of days ago. It was a hugely important clash in the AFC North. The Steelers still top the standings in the AFC North with the same record as the Ravens: ten wins and five losses. As of now, the Steelers have the slight advantage, but it can change quickly in the NFL. The Ravens will square off with the Texans later during Christmas Day.
The Steelers also lost to the Eagles (13-27) the week before the Ravens game. Before this two-game stretch, the Steelers had won seven out of their last eight games in the NFL. The Steelers will have a tough time holding on to the top spot in the AFC North if they lose to Kansas City. Pittsburgh must win their two remaining games. The Steelers have a home record of five wins and one loss. Head coach Mike Tomlin and his squad are 2.5-point underdogs in this game, according to Las Vegas.
A win versus the Steelers would mean that the Chiefs are the top seed in the AFC. The top seed in each conference gets a bye from the wild card week. So the stakes are, for sure, very high. The Chiefs are in the AFC West. Kansas City has won 14 games and only lost one so far this NFL season. Impressive, to say the least. Last week, the Chiefs took care of the Houston Texans, 27-19. Their only loss this season came to the Buffalo Bills a couple of weeks ago.
There have been some raising concerns about the health of Patrick Mahomes recently, QB of the Kansas City Chiefs. He is playing through injury. We can count on the Chiefs doing all they can to win this one and secure the bye so Mahomes can rest before the NFL postseason starts.
Pittsburgh will miss Ben Skowronek and George Pickens. As far as Kansas City goes, they will have to do without DJ Humphries and Chamarri Conner. Chris Jones and Jawaan Taylor are questionable.
