The drama continues in the NFC conference with The Commanders hosting The Falcons. Both teams need the win to have a good position as possible next weekend, when the last regular season games are played.
Washington got the better of the Philadelphia Eagles last week. It was a big win for the Commanders. They won the game, 36-33. The Commanders QB, Jayden Daniels, was the MVP of that game. Washington has also defeated The Saints (20-19) and the Titans (42-19) in their three-game-long winning streak. The Washington Commanders have won seven out of their last nine games in the NFL. They have a record of ten wins and five losses in total.
Washington sits at the second position in the NFC East. The Eagles top the NFC East with a record of 12-3. Washington is strong at home with a record of 6-2. The Commanders are currently in the 7th and last playoff spot in the NFC. A win versus The Falcons tonight would secure a playoff berth for the Commanders. To clinch the division title is not too likely at this point for the Commanders.
There is a hard battle going on in the NFC South between Tampa Bay Buccaneers and The Falcons. Both teams have a record of eight wins and seven losses. Atlanta is ahead because they have the tiebreaker over Tampa Bay based on head-to-head percentage. The Falcons took good care of the New York Giants last week, 34-17. The Falcons have won two straight games. They had lost four straight before that.
So if the Falcons win their two remaining games, they will clinch the NFC South title. That would give the Atlanta Falcons a home-court advantage in the wild card round of the postseason, which of course is a huge advantage in the playoffs. Bijan Robinson, running back for the Falcons, will be a key factor in this matchup.
The Commanders will miss Tyler Owens, Jordan Magee, Andrew Wylie, Marshon Lattimore, and Dyami Brown. As far as the Falcons go, Antonio Hamilton is out. Charlie Woerner and Casey Washington are questionable.
