LATEST ODDS

Paws up, hockey fans - the Red Wings and the. Wild are sharpening their claws as they prepare to clash at Little Caesars Arena, marking the first game for both squads after the Four Nations Tournament. Both teams will be eager to pounce back into action and keep their NHL campaigns on the prowl. Historically, the Red Wings have been the bigger cats in this rivalry, but in their most recent scrap in December the Wild clawed their way to a victory on home ice.

Before the tournament break, the Red Wings were strutting with confidence, finding their groove under Coach McLellan. Over their last eight games, they’ve been nearly unstoppable, purring their way to seven wins with just a single loss, the most recent to the Lightning. And that’s not all! Before that, they put together another seven-game winning streak, bringing them dangerously close to a playoff spot for the first time since the golden years. The biggest weapon in their arsenal? A red-hot power play converting at 28.57%, second-best in the league. These Wings have been flying high, and they don’t seem ready to land just yet

WILD ON THE HUNT

The Minnesota Wild have been steady hunters in their recent outings, never falling too far behind in the pack. In their last eight games, they've managed five wins while dropping three. With the one of the leagues most solid defenses and consistent approach to the game, there’s little doubt the Wild will continue be well place in the division and conference. Very impressive from both skaters as front office, headed by GM Guerin, as the club working out of a salary cap way below competitors.

ANALYSIS

Both teams are looking to come back on form and trajectory as they return from the international break. The Red Wings will aim to capitalize on their potent power play, while the Wild will seek to utilize their tight defense to counter Detroit's offensive. Given the home-ice advantage and a slightly better recent form, the Red Wings might have a marginal edge in this contest. Red Wings take it away at Little Ceasars!
