Fresh off their gritty 1-0 victory over Arsenal, West Ham United return to the London Stadium aiming to keep their momentum going against a relegation threatened Leicester City. Meanwhile, Leicester arrive in East London in desperate need of a turnaround having lost 10 of their last 12 Premier League matches including six straight home defeats without scoring a single goal.
Graham Potter’s side ended a four game winless run with their win at the Emirates, a result that provided a significant boost in their quest to move up the table. Despite still sitting 16th they are now 13 points clear of the relegation zone with 12 matches left. However, home form remains a concern for the Hammers who have lost their last two league fixtures at the London Stadium. They will now look to avoid a third defeat and will take confidence from their strong record against promoted sides, having won eight of their last nine such encounters in the Premier League.
Leicester’s last game was a crushing 4-0 loss to Brentford which further deepened their relegation worries as they sit 19th on the table, five points from safety. Changes behind the scenes have already begun with first team coach Ben Dawson and goalkeeping coach Danny Alcock departing. However, Van Nistelrooy still holds the reins as he attempts to steer the club away from an immediate return to the Championship. Leicester’s away form has been woeful with only Southampton picking up fewer points on the road this season. They are also the only Premier League team yet to keep an away clean sheet conceding a league high 32 goals in 12 matches.
West Ham remain without Lucas Paquetá, Vladimir Coufal, Michail Antonio, Crysencio Summerville and Niclas Füllkrug. Graham Potter may switch back to a four man defence which could see Aaron Cresswell drop out and Emerson Palmieri return at left-back.
Leicester will be without Abdul Fatawu and Ricardo Pereira, while James Justin faces a late fitness test. If Justin is unavailable Woyo Coulibaly will continue at right back. Jannik Vestergaard is pushing for a return in central defence.
West Ham possible lineup: Areola; Wan-Bissaka, Todibo, Kilman, Emerson; Soucek, Ward-Prowse; Bowen, Kudus, Soler; Ferguson
Leicester possible lineup: Hermansen; Coulibaly, Faes, Okoli, Kristiansen; Soumaré, Ndidi; Buonanotte, El Khannouss, Mavididi; Vardy
