Here at home, we’re counting down the days until vacation – and this summer's European Championship festival in Germany.
Meanwhile, over in the USA, it's still all about frozen ice and icing calls. At least for a couple more weeks.
My favorite? Florida! They’re a more complete team – but then again, the question is whether that's enough. If a certain Connor McDavid continues to play otherworldly hockey, anything can happen.
Personally, I appreciate the depth of the Panthers. There are so many incredibly smart and skilled players – beyond the obvious star names in the first line: Carter Verhaeghe, Sam Reinhart, and Aleksander Barkov.
The second line is exceptionally good, even if it doesn’t grab the same headlines.
When Tkachuk and Bennett have been on the ice together during these playoffs, they've had a chance advantage of 61-30 in five-on-five play. That’s extraordinarily good! Sam Bennett also gets some ice time in power play, where he usually rolls in the second unit. But – as I said – he’s incredibly skilled at creating chances for himself or his teammates, even in even-strength play.
2.05 odds seem interesting!
