New Orleans is called the Big Easy. It sure ain't no easy task to win three straight Super Bowls. Obviously, since no team has ever achieved it. The Chiefs and the Eagles squared off in the Super Bowl in 2023, and it was a very close game that Kansas City won 38-35. Philadelphia would, of course, love to put an end to Kansas’ dreams about doing the three-peat. This is the 5th Super Bowl ever for the Eagles. They won it once (2018).
So the extremely successful duo of head coach Andy Reid and QB Patrick Mahomes can get into uncharted territory with a win at Super Bowl LIX. At this point, Reid and Mahomes have won three Super Bowls in seven seasons. As a franchise, the Kansas City Chiefs have won four in total. That puts them at the 5th spot in NFL history.
The Kansas City Chiefs only lost two games in the regular season—to the Bills and to the Broncos in the last week of the regular season. A game in which Andy Reid rested all of his starters. The Chiefs did not play very well in the regular season and were involved in a big amount of close clutch games. They pretty much won all of these games. That is a very telling strength.
The reigning champions touched ground at Louis Armstrong Airport in New Orleans on Saturday. The Chiefs have been surrounded by some controversy in the playoffs. It’s about the officiating and whether the referees are in some sort of favor of the Kansas City Chiefs. That’s what the debate has been about in the States after the AFC Championship game against the Buffalo Bills. We will not get into the technicalities of it all here. Usually, when a franchise has been as successful and dominant as the Chiefs, it tends to create some envy. We’ll have a nice prediction ready for you regarding Super Bowl LIX this weekend.
