TWO FINALS IN WASHINGTON AWAITS US

It is the final day of the combined ATP & WTA 500 Mubadala Citi DC Open in Washington. Paola Badosa will be squaring off with Maria Bouzkova In the ladies final. Flavio Cobolli will play his maiden final on the tour. He will be facing Sebastian Korda.

MARIA BOUZKOVA VS PAOLA BADOSA

Paola Badosa who is ranked at the 62nd spot in the world received a wild card To the event and she is having a blast of a week. Badosa started the week by defeating Sofia Kenin in straight sets. She was up one set to nothing when Samsonova retired in the round of 16. Paola Badosa had the Toughest match of the week in the quarter finals where she got the better of Emma Raducanu in three sets (4-6, 7-5, 6-4). In the semi final Badosa won against Dolehide in straight sets. Bouzkova impressed in yesterday’s semi final when she defeated Aryna Sabalenka in three sets (6-4, 3-6, 6-3). The 43rd ranked player in the world hit 8 aces to her two double faults. Maria Bouzkova took advantage of 5 of her 11 breakpoints. During the week in Washington Bouzkova has defeated Kessler in three sets, Townsend in straight sets and Montgomery as well. Paola Badosa is up two too nothing in the head two heads.

SEBASTIAN KORDA VS FLAVIO COBOLLI

Flavio Cobolli wrote some history for himself yesterday when he reached his first ATP final ever. He played very well in the semi final against the second seed Ben Shelton. Cobolli came back after being a set down and won the match (4-6, 7-5, 6-3) in the end. A great week for the 22 year old and 48th ranked player in the world. He defeated David Goffin in straight sets. Davidovich-Fokina and Michelsen in three sets before the match versus Shelton. Overall this season Cobolli has played 40 matches before Washington and won 21 of them. The 4th seed Korda got the better of his compatriot, Frances Tiafoe, in the semi final yesterday. He won in straight sets (6-4, 6-4). Korda is starting to find his way on the court and has beaten Garin in straight sets. Kokkinakis in three sets and Thompson in two sets. Korda has won 22 out of the 38 matches he has played on the ATP tour in 2024. Korda is up one to nothing in the head two heads.
