The top seed of the WTA 125 BLS Open de Limoges, Ekaterina Alexandrova, will square off with Tamara Korpatsch in a first round match The 6th seed, Parrizas Diaz, will face the 16 year old Lilli Tagger from Austria in the second round.
The 30 year old Alexandrova out of Russia is ranked at the 28th position in the world. Her best ever ranking was at number 15, eight months ago. Alexandrova has won 26 and lost 24 matches on the WTA tour in 2024. Alexandrova has not won a title this season but has four in her career. She has not played since the WTA 1000 Wuhan Open in China where she got to the QF.
The 29 year old Tamara Korpatsch from Hamburg in Germany is ranked at the 172nd spot in the world. Her best was at number 71 a little bit more than a year ago. Korpatsch has won 14 and lost 34 matches across all tours in 2024. She has won one title so far in her career (Cluj 2023). Korpatsch played last week at the WTA 125 Angers and lost in the second round to Alycia Parks (who won the event in the end).
Lillii Tagger is only 16 years of age and not very experienced at this level at all. Tagger got a wild card to the event. Since this is a round of 16 match Tagger has played one match and she defeated Jimenez Kasintseva in the first round. A big win for Tagger (three sets), ranked at the 945th spot in the world currently. Tagger is ranked amongst the 50 best juniors in the world. Tagger has won 11 and lost 14 matches across all tours in 2024. Tagger has won 7 of her last 11 matches on the ITF challenger tour.
The veteran from Spain defeated Jill Teichmann in the round of 32 at the BLS Open de Limoges. The 33 year old Parrizas Diaz won the match in three sets. Nuria is ranked at number 100 in the world. Her best ever was at the 45th spot in May of 2022. Nuria has won 41 and lost 22 matches across all tours in 2024. Parrizas Diaz has two straight first round exits on the tour.
